The co-curriculum is an essential feature of Ashford School and sets us apart from others. We deliberately use the term co-curriculum and not extra-curriculum because it is not an extra for students or teachers. It is at the heart of developing all those valuable and hard to measure personal qualities such as teamwork, perseverance, self-discipline, empathy, leadership and intellectual curiosity. Alongside the study of specific subjects, all students, throughout their time in the school, must engage in co-curricular activities including physical activity. This removes the burden felt by many teenagers of worrying about what their friends are doing; at Ashford School everyone has the freedom to pursue their interests and therefore to develop independence of mind and spirit.
Music, competitive team sport, drama abound; the activities on offer vary from term to term and most students struggle to choose from the 80+ options.
