The school Parent Teacher Association is an organisation which allows parents to become more involved in school life and supports the school and its teaching staff, as well as the wider community. The three aims of the PTA are to:
1. Raise funds for the school to buy 'extras' that wouldn't be funded through the school budget
2. Raise funds for charitable causes locally, nationally and internationally
3. Create links and social gatherings for the parents and children of the school
The PTA fulfils these aims by running events, fundraising and appointing class representatives to co-ordinate activities for each year group.
The main activities of the PTA are:
Fireworks night; Christmas Fayre; 100 Club; Second Hand Uniform Shop; Year Group cake sales
A small committee of volunteers oversees the activities of the PTA and the committee is helped by a large team of parents and staff volunteers. There is a PTA meeting open to all parents and teachers each half term. The PTA is a great way of meeting other parents and getting involved in school. If you would like to help or have any queries about the PTA please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more details.
