The UK's Top Teacher 2011
We were delighted that our Head of Biology, Mr Rob Turner, was recognised nationally for his inspirational and adventurous teaching. He was given the Top Teacher Award at The Archant Good Schools Show in September 2011 by Tom Parker Bowles.
A Top Boarding School
At the same ceremony we were named one of the country's top five boarding schools.
Outstanding Contribution to the Community
Ashford School was also recognised as a runner-up for its Outstanding Contribution to the Community at the same awards ceremony.
The Good Schools Guide Award for Mathematics
In 2011, we once again picked up a GSG award. A Level Maths was given the coveted Lucas trophy for the excellent teaching of Maths and the performance of students (especially boys) at A Level. The award was determined on the GSG WOW Factor calculations, a combination of performance of the students in public exams and the popularity of the subject at the individual school and compared with other schools nationally.
