Ashford Friars Prep School (boys and girls age 7 - 11 years)

Age 7+ (entry into Year 3)

The Prep School is located at Great Chart, 2 miles west of Ashford. A free shuttle service runs between the Great Chart and Ashford sites at the start and end of each day.

The majority of pupils from Year 2 in the Pre-Prep move into Year 3 in the Prep School and they are joined by a number of new children. There are 48 places available in three classes of about 16 pupils each. An offer of a place is made after a visit and assessments in reading, writing, number and verbal reasoning. There are currently places available in this year for September 2009.

Most pupils join the Prep School with the intention of transferring to the Senior School at 11+ and this is our expectation. Nonetheless, for the few that request it, we prepare pupils for the Kent Test and for scholarship tests to other independent schools.
