Let’s do lunch!

Get ready to celebrate the start of Summer with us at the Ashford School Association’s (ASA) Annual Summer Lunch – an exclusive event for all former pupils and staff of Ashford School and Friars Prep School.

Enjoy a welcome drink on arrival, followed by a 2-course lunch paired with wine or a soft drink, and teas and coffees to finish the meal.

We would also be delighted for you to join us at the ASA’s AGM beforehand – the perfect opportunity to hear what the Association has achieved, and to get involved in our community’s plans for the future.

In this talk you will hear from Former Head of Science Brian Stockwell (1975 – 2001) talk about his work on the first British School Science Experiment to be sent to space whilst teaching at Ashford School. In March 1985, Ashford School won the ITN Competition, which provided them with the opportunity to send an experiment into space. Somewhere around 50 girls and 9 staff worked on the project over the next 7 years. The project was launched into space on 12 September 1992 and was watched by 12 of the girls who worked on the project.

In this talk, you will hear about Geoffrey Chaucer and “The Canterbury Tales”, about the dangers of pilgrimage, and about kings, queens, princes, traffic, murder, and hospitality, with Jenny Watson-Bore (Former English Teacher)

This workshop empowers you to let go of self-doubt and develop the courage to face your fear with Health & Life Coach Rose Berry (Pilgrims, 2008). Rose shares her own experience with social anxiety combined with the knowledge she’s gained through training as a Health & Life Coach, to inspire attendees to feel more confident.

COO Helen Fairley (Yeomen, 2001) shares how her and her team have coped with the transition to remote working, sharing their challenges, but also the positives they have seen.

Marketing Consultant Sinead Hanna (Knights, 1996) uses her extensive experience of creating social media strategies for public and private sector clients to share practical, easy to follow tips on how to make social media work for you and your business goals.
