Compliments from the Artist

Pupils in Year 3 at Ashford Friars Prep School have been creating artwork based around the famous Canadian artist, Lisa Lorenz and have been praised for their adaptations on her landscape projects.

Art teacher, Brigitte Green, contacted Lisa in February for permission to use her paintings in the project and the artwork has since been praised and displayed on the artists own website. To create their artwork, prints of the original paintings were glued onto A3 paper and the pupils were tasked with 'finishing the picture'. The children worked in oil pastels to match the bold and bright colours used by Lisa Lorenz.

"I think their work is absolutely brilliant and they are ALL very talented... I am inspired by the simple things in life and captivated by the love, beauty and colours surrounding us. I love to create cheerful, bright, stylized paintings adding a little colour and happiness into our lives." Lisa Lorenz

Lisa (Lariviere), Lorenz was born in Montreal, Canada and has been drawing and painting exuberantly since childhood. After living overseas for over 13 years, she has recently moved back to her native Canada and now lives in Ottawa. Her work hangs in private collections in Australia, Asia, Europe and North America.
