Year 5 enjoyed a sunny but windy day out at Samphire Hoe on Tuesday June 2nd. Year 5 teacher, Mrs Ridgway organized a Geography Field trip to build on work done this term on coasts.
The park ranger was very interesting and knowledgeable and explained the history of Samphire Hoe and how it was formed from the excavations of the Channel Tunnel.
The children saw many of the coastal features that they had studied in lessons, such as wave cut platforms, high water mark, caves and coastal erosion, and drew some wonderful sketches.
A fun day out for all involved, a final highlight of the day was the ice-cream!
