Year 2 Performance of Hoodwinked

The Year 2 children have worked very hard over the last term on their end of year production - Hoodwinked. Based on the tale of Robin Hood, Finn Dwyer expertly played our hero Robin, Georgina Acott was the beautiful Maid Marian and Leo Hopley excelled the fabulously evil Sherriff of Nottingham!

The final performance for parents showed humour, action, moments of suspense and songs sung beautifully by the children.

A brief synopsis:
In King Richard’s absence, the Sherriff of Nottingham is making the poor people of Sherwood suffer with his tyranny and unfair taxes. The only person standing in his way is Robin Hood and his merry men. They have been stealing from the rich nobles to give money back to the poor and the Sherriff decides enough is enough. He stages an archery tournament with the prize of kissing the fair lady Marian (Robin’s true love). Robin comes to the tournament in disguise but alas is caught by the Sherriff and thrown into the castle dungeons. Marian and Friar Tuck carry out a daring plan to free Robin resulting in a battle between the Merry Men and the Sherriff’s guards. The fighting is only stopped by the appearance of King Richard (disguised as a monk). He orders everyone to stop the fighting and sets about putting things right again.
