Picnic in the Park

A Picnic in the Park was organised to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Ashford School German exchange with the Wilhelm Hausenstein School, Durmersheim, Germany.

The entertainment featured an outstanding performance from the German School’s ‘Big Band’ and former and present Ashford School singers, who have taken part in the exchange. The visit provided further entertainment from Ashford School of an astounding quality.

Picnics, music and perfect weather combined to make this a memorable evening for a very appreciative audience. The PTA kindly assisted the evening by providing a bar for visitors.

Amongst the audience were Mrs Christine Crabtree, founder of the exchange with Dr Johannes Werner. Dr Werner’s retirement was recognised with appreciation of his long-standing affection for Ashford School through a presentation of a framed picture of Ashford School drawn by Mrs Fiona Clifton-Ryan, teacher of Art at Ashford School.
