30 Sixth Form students studying French, Economics, Business and History were taken to Paris at the start of February to attend a student conference named Your Future in Europe.
With an inspiring talk about the fantastic opportunities of the Erasmus Programme and working for a year at the European Parliament, students were able to understand the importance of learning another language when considering a future in business and the opportunities it creates.
Speakers from Eurostar, Bean to Bed and Fragonard Perfumes addressed the attendees from 65 schools across the UK and there was a focus group on French topics in the media, tourism and the environment.
During the conference students were given a number of interactive opportunities to get involved. School Captain, Sophie Peppitt was awarded 2 Eurostar tickets for creating a motto to regenerate confidence in Eurostar after the problems with snow, breakdowns and delays at Christmas.
Also on the trip the students had plenty of time for sightseeing around Paris including the Arc de Triomphe, Avenue des Champs-Élysées, Place de la Concorde, the Louvre, Musée d'Orsay, shopping at the Galeries lafayette, a river cruise through the city and of course, a visit to the Eiffel Tower.
