The Nicholls have raced ahead again, this time competing for their club, Tonbridge Athletics, at the English National Cross Country Championships.
The championship attracts one of the largest number of runners to come together out of any event in England and was held this year at Roundhay Park, Leeds.
Grace, Max and Euan are all in their first year of a two year age group. Max lined up amongst 400 under 15 boys and had a great run, coming 31st overall and forming part of the 2nd placed team for the silver medals out of 38 teams represented.
Euan went one better, by coming 4th in the under 13 group to join the English National winning team out of 40 teams and 650 boys entered.
Grace ran with the leaders for most of her 6.5km but the steep hills took their toll and she came in 7th.
Their next meeting is the National Intercounties in Birmingham, in the shadow of the Longbridge car factory, and the week after, English Schools Championship in Manchester.
