Grandparents Day at Great Chart

On a sunny afternoon on the first Friday in March, Ashford Friars Prep School welcomed over 300 mums, dads, grannys and grandpas to Grandparent's Day.

Taking their chance to show off the brand new school buildings and all the hard work they put into their time at school, pupils from ages 3 to 11 were able to guide their family through the tour and take part in a variety of activities and games.

Visitors and pupils took part in 'Who wants to be a Millionaire' in the Year 3 classroom, tried out some speedy still life drawing in the art room, 'saw' sound in the science lab, watched the rehearsals for the Year 6 production of 'Yee Ha!' in Lendrum Hall and had a go with the Laptop challenge and the Beebot Challenge in the computer rooms. And of course, tea and cakes were ready for everyone at the end of the tours for a chance to catch breath!

"The school looks amazing! It was so nice to see where the Grandchildren spend every day and it always surprises me how many activities they fit in. They so clearly love their time here!"

The next event for the Prep School is the Teddy Bear's Picnic on Saturday afternoon, which is set to be just as busy and is eagerly anticipated by all involved!
