Not quite letting go of winter...

Earlier this week, children in Year 2 came into school with not only their homework and reading books in their bags but also blocks of ice!

The ice was to be used to construct an ice castle in the playground and many blocks were coloured and had flowers, sweetcorn, glitter, paperclips, jellybeans, buttons and many other unusual objects in them.

An intricate design, the castle had walls, towers, turrets and even an ice drawbridge. All the children observed the castle melting and fusing together over the day. "It was sad to see the castle slowly melting away but a fun exercise to do in the sunshine." Mrs Thind, Y2 Teacher
