Athletics Success

The latest event in the ever popular Granville League has again shown Ashford above the rest. Winning the Granville League Athletics meeting, the Under 15 boys from Ashford School beat rivals Kings School Rochester, St Lawrence College and Dover College.  

There were excellent performances from a number of pupils. Below are the top performers with a comment from Mr Wilde, Head of PE:

Geoff Perkins - 1st place in the 400m race and 1st place in the triple jump. "A very gifted athlete."
Max Nicholls - 1st place in both the 1500m and 1500m steeplechase. "A very tough combination of events."
Quazim Omotosho - 1st place in the Discus - "Very new to the event, a natural!"
Callum Thomas - 1st place in the Javelin with a throw close to 40m! "He threw almost twice as far as the second place competitor, an outstanding result!"

A great victory was made all the better as there were 38 pupils unavailable due to a R.S GCSE exam module!
