  • Sophie Buchanan in 300m and shot putt
  • Geoff Perkins in the high jump

Independent Association of Prep Schools Athletics Championships

Against other athletes from Kent the pupils in Y7/8 competed with great determination, often gaining personal best times or distances.  Among the highlights for our team were:

  • Katie Keet , Nathan Heathcote, Lu-Lu Oguunuga all qualified for the national finals of the 100m
  • An excellent 9m 94cm by Sophie Ledger in the shot putt meant qualification for the national finals
  • Excellent results in the 1500m with Euan Nicholls winning the U13 Boys, Bea Icke winning the U13 Girls  and Amira Rayner coming in third; a win also for Emma Jenkins from the Y6 team in the 1500m
  • An excellent win for Folarin Ogunsula in the 400m.
  • A superb heat for the Y8 boys and girls relays teams in the heats; in the final the boys finished fourth with the girls in  a photo finish for sliver; an excellent finish to a great day by all the pupils.

Good luck to all those in the national finals in Birmingham on the 5 July.
