Ashford School Art dept has been asked to design and make a wall hanging for the chapel at the Pilgrims' hospice in Ashford, to complement the beautiful stained glass window that were created by Ashford pupils and former teacher Alex Le Rossignol 10 years ago.
On Wednesday the 8th September the Year 12 textiles group visited the Pilgrims' Hospice to view the chapel and to discuss design criteria for the wall hanging with the Chaplain. Rev Geoff Walters.
Penny Jefferies- ‘' It was an inspirational visit. It was so important to experience the atmosphere of peace and hope in the chapel and to base our ideas on that.''
Lucy Keet- ‘' I am so glad that I saw the colours and designs of the stained glass as it has given me more idea of how to start this project.''
We are very privileged to be working on such an important project that will hopefully bring calm to those using the chapel at such a difficult and trying time. We wish the group the best of luck with the project and look forward to seeing the finished artwork.
