ANZAC Biscuit Baking
Every child in Year 6 was involved in the making and baking of over 300 Anzac Biscuits! The recipe was developed during WWI by the women of Australia and New Zealand. They wanted to devise a recipe which did not contain eggs (as they were in short supply) and which could be shipped to the Australian and New Zealand forces that were part of the war effort in Europe. The biscuits proved to be very popular indeed. There was a mad rush at break time and the year 6 bakers had to do some rationing of their own! The £82 raised will be presented to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
