University Applications for 2011

The university admissions season is in full swing with the deadline for applications being 15 January 2011. Our candidates are well ahead of the game. Progress so far includes:

• All 71 applications were submitted by the 25th November with most by the end of October
• We expect ~355 replies in total and we have already had 196 (55%)
• Students have received 165 offers (84% success rate), an average of 2.3 per applicant so far.
• 83% of pupils have at least 1 offer
• Highest offer is A*AAE, lowest offer 240pts (CCC), average offer ~ABB
• 14 students (20%) have had all their decisions from universities
• Of the 12 applications to Oxford and Cambridge, 11 have had interviews and are awaiting the outcomes; one has so far been offered a place
• As is normal, those who have applied for Medicine or Vet Science will have to wait the longest to hear.
