National Science & Engineering Week

There has been a constant, creative buzz around the Science Department as our students have thrown themselves into designing and building match stick Eiffel Towers, used their engineering skills to design the perfect paper aeroplane and paper bridge and risen to the challenge of constructing elaborate timing devices.

The week got off to a wet start with Year 5 designing and building boats to be tested in the choppy waters of the senior school swimming pool.

Friday's House competition brought out our students' intellectual curiosity, as well as their creative problem solving, leadership and team building qualities. I would like to thank them all for their infectious enthusiasm and for making SciFest1 such a resounding success and thank Miss Irene Martin for masterminding the whole week.
