On the ladder to rugby stardom

Congratulations to talented Senior School pupil Tom Porter who has been selected to play for East Kent Rugby.

The 12-year-old was applauded by the whole school as Head Mike Buchanan presented him with his coveted representative tie.

The Ashford School student has excelled at rugby since he started playing at Ashford School in Year 7 and now he is a keen member of the school's Under 13 team.

His selection to the East Kent team is the latest of his achievements and he is a regular player for the Under 13 team at Ashford Rugby Club.

"Since starting rugby, I progressed far further than I thought I would," he said. "I am very glad I was given the support from the start as I now take every opportunity I can to play rugby."
