A Packed Performance

A Packed Performance

There was a great turnout to a concert in memory of a former Ashford School Director of Music.

Around 80 people packed the Octagon to listen to performances to mark the 10th anniversary of the death of James Fehr.

James Fehr worked at Ashford School inspiring pupils for 18 years before he fell ill and died in 2001.

David Hill, who worked with Mr Fehr and still teaches singing at the school, said: "He was known by all as a great innovator and always generously gave his time, nurturing musical talent at all levels."

There were excellent performances given by students at the school, including voice, piano and flute and - as we are adventurous here at Ashford School - a piano piece for eight hands!

Donations raised £181 for the Pilgrims Hospice in Willesborough.
