Learning comes to Life

Learning comes to Life

Explorations into the Roman era have taken Year 3 back in time to build weapons.

They spent the day with a Roman Soldier who taught them road and bridge-making skills and helped them construct a life-size catapult and battering ram. Click here to see more pictures.

"The children had a fantastic time," said Head of History Mrs Caro Sparks. "They used sand, stone and bricks to make their roads, sticks, elastic bands and card to make miniature bridges - and there was great excitement when they got to fire their catapult.

"It's days like these that bring learning to life for the children and they are a vitally important part of their education."
