A former School Captain is sailing the world in a bid to raise funds to fight cancer.
Alexandra (Massey), who was Captain at Ashford School in 2000-1, has set off across the Atlantic with her husband, Mike Bayley.
The couple have put their careers on hold for a year, boarded their 42-foot Hallberg Rassey, and set off from Portsmouth.
Their journey is taking them across the Bay of Biscay to Spain, Portugal, Madeira and the Caneries. From their they will join the ARC rally of some 250 boats all crossing the Atlantic to St Lucia.
"Marie Curie Cancer Care is a charity dear to Mike's heart and it is for this charity, and in memory of his parents, that we are embarking on our journey of a lifetime," said Alexandra.
Alexandra studied at King's College London and Durham University after leaving Ashford School. If you would like to donate please visit www.justgiving.com/bayley-sailing.
