Pre-Nursery (0-3 years)

Our Pre-Nursery is called Bridge House and provides outstanding day-care for children aged 3 months to 3 years.

Overseen by an experienced and dedicated leadership team, Bridge House provides a warm, loving environment for all the children. It is divided into sections that cater for the children's different requirements as they grow through their stages of development.

Ducklings Room

With the youngest children we plan carefully for each individual so that they learn through their own natural curiosity.

All children are allocated a key-person when joining the nursery that will be responsible for maintaining a development record of each child's progress as they move through the Pre-Nursery. Designated sleep rooms are available so that their home routine can be maintained.

All equipment and activities are chosen to ensure appropriate development in all key areas. Within the room we have a separate area for the very young babies and then designated areas that cover heuristic play, structured play, home corner/imaginative play and the messy/craft area.

SANDS Charity PicnicOtter & Kingfisher Rooms

The Otter and Kingfisher Rooms cater for children from 18-28 months. In these rooms we encourage children to learn though play and develop independence at their own pace. We are also able to support the physical development of children by continuing routines started at home such as potty training.

Children will start their day in their respective rooms but do spend time mixing with the children and staff from the other room. These rooms also have designated areas for craft/messy play, home corner/imaginative play and heuristic play.

All of the rooms have access to the garden.

First Steps

First Steps caters for children from 28-36 months and is designed to ensure a smooth transition into the Nursery of the Prep School. The children are already familiar with their surroundings making the settling process easy and gentle.

The First Steps room is also set up using designated areas that cover heuristic play, home corner/imaginative play, structured play and a craft/messy area.
