Sixth Form

Ashford School Sixth Form flourishes every year with new talent, facilities, a wide range of subjects to study, an improved academic monitoring system and, as always, superb pastoral system based on our six Houses.

The Sixth Form experience is unlike any other in your schooling career and is an opportunity to explore all our school has to offer whether that is the academic rigour of A levels and university preparation, the wide variety of sports, creative and performing arts or the wider world international tours or local community service. Your Sixth Form years are a chance to pursue your interests and develop your knowledge and skills.

Sixth Form in the LRCAt Ashford we nurture the individual and have high expectations of you and what you will achieve. We expect you to be an active and leading member of the school and to facilitate this offer leadership opportunities through our Prefect training programme and through the many activities that Sixth Form students run and participate in. We offer one to one support for your academic studies and in our individualised careers and Higher Education advice service.

Our size and the mixture of students we have at Ashford allows you to participate fully in the school as leading members and not be lost in a sea of people competing for the limelight.

I hope you enjoy the prospectus which you can download below. Please feel free to come to arrange a personal discussion with me about your needs and aspirations for your Sixth Form career.

Boarding in the Sixth Form“Life in the Sixth Form at Ashford School is the right balance of work and socializing. The freedom you gain by being at the top of the school means you are in control of your own time and your own studies. Similarly, there are always opportunities for socializing in the form of theatre trips, Balls and Formal Dinners.”
Rosie, School Captain 2007-8

“Ashford school is a great place and full of experiences. Everyone is kind and helpful and it is a great environment for both study and play.”
Lucas, Year 13 boarder

“Probably the best part of being in the Sixth Form is the relationship we all have with the rest of the school. We are given plenty of opportunities and responsibilities and from this we are treated more as adults and our suggestions and opinions are taken more seriously. The closeness of the Lower and Upper Sixth has also really surprised me, we really do get on!!!”
Vicky, Year 12

“My experience of Ashford School so far has been really memorable. I’ve settled into a warm and friendly environment, getting on with both my classmates and my teachers. Classes are small, and the school’s facilities make it a fun place to learn. There are many activities on offer here, and I am enjoying the new, fun learning atmosphere of this school.”
Ayo, Year 13 boarder
