A Level Results 2022

Date Posted: Thursday 18 August 2022

Ashford School reports remarkable A Level results, following two years of uncertainty and increased pressure. Today we have celebrated the success of our Year 13 students who have come together with their friends, parents, and staff, following the return of official examinations in 2022.

Students at Ashford School achieved 100% pass rate, studying a total of 21 different subjects, in addition to EPQ and BTech Sport. We are incredibly proud that a high proportion of our students have secured places at their first choice University. A vast majority of students will continue their studies at Russell Group universities, reading STEM subjects of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

Specific mention must be given to Oliver Jacobs who achieved 4 grades at A* and Beth Hawkes who was awarded 3 A* and A grades. Both students have already accepted their places at University of Nottingham and will go on to read Mathematical Physics and Physics with Theoretical Astro Physics, respectively. Oliver commented: “I am very happy with my A Level results today. I received 4 A* in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry. Today is a good day!”

Mrs Claire Miller, Head of Sixth Form commented: “I am really proud of our Year 13 exam results and the cohort that has gone through so much to come out where they are today. Many successes, many highlights, many positives for universities but above all they leave as friends with ambition, hope, drive, and a complete diverse range of interests that will follow them for the forthcoming years.”

Headmaster, Mr Michael Hall, stated: “Our Year 13 students have shown resilience over the last few years, with disruption to their study, GCSE examinations and uncertainty for their A Level course. I am delighted that all our students have achieved 100% pass rate in the first year of official examinations, following the pandemic. Their success is solely down to their maturity and determination to succeed. The school and our students are emerging from the pandemic happy, confident, and more successful than ever. I am extremely pleased with the ethos, culture, and mindset of the school community. The results speak for themselves and show they all have worked extremely hard to achieve their full potential. We send them off with best wishes for a bright and successful future ahead of them.”
