Welcome to our Ashford School Wellbeing Team.
It is our intention to introduce a range of holistic wellbeing services to support physical, emotional and mental wellbeing, which will in turn facilitate learning. It is essential that the voice of our children and young people remains central to our services. As such, we will initially set up a daily self-referral drop in service. This service will run over break and lunch times; before and after School to minimise disruption to learning and will be a space for students to speak with either myself or Holly about their concerns or worries.
For children and young people in need of a more targeted intervention we will offer a one to one Counselling or wellbeing sessions using a range of creative, art and play based resources. To determine the most appropriate intervention for our students, we will undertake an assessment process. Wellbeing workshops will support and develop resilience and growth; our Wellbeing Practitioner will incorporate sport, mindfulness & yoga. Over time, it is our intention to extend wellbeing services to parents and staff in the form of consultation services primarily and eventually workshops.
