Welcome to our Ashford School Wellbeing Team
Here at Ashford School, we provide a comprehensive service to support the wellbeing of our pupils, incorporating physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.
By working with an Integrative Therapeutic approach, this means that our counsellors, therapists and practitioners will tailor their approach to supporting each pupil dependant and focused on their specific need. This method incorporates using and drawing upon Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioural, Humanistic, and Existential theory and approaches. These methods may be used in talking therapy or using a variety of creative arts.
Pupils, teachers or parents can refer pupils via the wellbeing team e-mail address (see below). Children younger than Year 9 will require the consent of their parent/guardian before being offered an assessment.
In addition to the above we offer an easily accessible service known as Time4Me which is a 15-minute brief session which pupils can request on the day to talk about things that don’t require a structured weekly counselling intervention.
We also offer yoga, meditation and mindfulness sessions, and a 6 week rolling Wellbeing Programme which upon completion pupils will be awarded the Wellbeing Champion Award and will be presented with a Wellbeing Champion School badge to add to their achievements.
The Wellbeing Manager Jessica Keyes is available to consult with parents/guardians regarding any concerns or enquiries they may have regarding their Childs Wellbeing.
Jessica is contactable via the Wellbeing Teams e-mail address: [email protected]
