Ashford School Athlete Takes Home GOLD at European Championships!

Congratulations to both Ava and Zara Chappell who competed in the Triathle and Biathle European Championships last week in Greece. Head Girl Zara took home Gold, competing against people from 15 different countries across Europe.

Zara commented on her achievements:

“Last week I travelled to Marathon in Greece to represent Great Britain in the European Triathle and Biathle Championships.
Biathle is a continuous race starting with a run, sea swim and straight into another run. The swim was really tough as there were 45mph winds and running with wet and sandy shoes is horrible! Triathle includes shooting and for this you shoot, swim and run twice.
I won both races, leading all the way, although the finishes were very close. Together with my team mates, we also won team gold!
I had an amazing time and made lots of new friends and hope to qualify next year so I can do it all again.”
