Celebrating Strong A Level Results
Ashford School students celebrate strong A Level results
Congratulations to our Year 13 students who performed so well in their A Levels this year.
63% of pupils achieved grades A* – B, 85% of pupils gained A*-C, 80% achieved A*- A in English Literature and 100% of students gained A*- B in Art, English Literature and Drama. We are incredibly proud that 71% have confirmed places at their first-choice university, and 84% have places at their first or second-choice university. The vast majority continuing their studies at Russell Group universities, many reading STEM subjects such as Biochemistry, Medicine, Optometry, Physiotherapy and Veterinary Science.
Specific mention must be given to Emily Body who was awarded 3 A grades and will be reading Veterinary Medicine and Surgery at Harper and Keele Veterinary School. Coco Luo received 3 A*s and 1 A, and is headed to St Anne’s College, University of Oxford to read Philosophy, Politics and Economics. Congratulations to Sam Arnell who achieved AAB, accepting his place at The University of Nottingham to study Chemistry. Bluey Coote was delighted to accept his place at The University of Arts London studying a Foundation Diploma in Art and Design.
Claire Miller, Head of Sixth Form commented: “I am really proud of our Year 13 exam results and the cohort that has gone through so much to come out where they are today. Many successes, many highlights, many positives for universities but above all they leave as friends with ambition, hope, drive, and a complete diverse range of interests that will follow them for the forthcoming years.”
Michael Hall, Headmaster, echoed these sentiments stating: “We are very proud of our students who have worked so hard to achieve these results. They have done incredibly well, showing great resilience over the last few years due to the pandemic disruption. Their success lies in their maturity and determination to succeed, and they leave Ashford School as well-rounded young people, ready to grasp the opportunities ahead of them. Their results speak for themselves and show they all have worked extremely hard to achieve their full potential. We send them off with best wishes for a bright and successful future. I would like to thank our excellent team who have inspired and supported our pupils throughout their educational journey with us and make the culture of Ashford School what it is.”
If any of our leavers or parents need advice or guidance, our Sixth Form team will be able to help.
