Date Posted: Thursday 25 August 2022

Students across the UK are receiving their GCSE results today and Ashford School are delighted to join all our students, parents, and staff in celebrating the success of our Year 11 cohort who have all achieved outstanding results.

In what has seen the best results awarded for the last 7 years at Ashford School, an impressive 99% of all grades were awarded at 9-4 (A-C), with 59% of these being achieved at 9-7 (A*/A).

Year 11 student, Alan (who achieved a staggering eight grade 9s and two grade 7s), commented on the day: “I am so happy with the results I have achieved today, and I look forward to returning in September to join the Sixth Form.”

Following impressive A Level results last week, we are so proud of the hard work and dedication that our students have shown and put into their studies, particularly over the last few years. In what was set to be an uncertain year for examinations, our students will no doubt feel incredibly proud of the results they have achieved today. We are delighted that the majority of this year group will return in September to continue their studies. Ashford School prides itself on being able to offer our students a wide range of subjects to choose at A Level including, but not limited to, Mathematics, English, Design & Technology, Art, Humanities, Languages, Sciences, Drama, Music, as well as the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) and BTEC Sport.

Assistant Head of the Middle School (Years 9-11), Mr John Curry commented: “I am extremely proud of all the students’ achievements. Our students have had so many trials and tribulations through the Covid19 period, and they have worked so hard and achieved fantastic results.”

Headmaster, Mr Michael Hall, said, “I want to pay tribute to our students in Year 11 and Year 13. Following the removal of public examinations for the past two years, these year groups were under significant and uncertain pressure. They coped exceptionally well, maintaining an excellent attitude to their work, revision, and exams. The pupils should be very proud of what they have achieved. We very much look forward to welcoming our students back in September, along with the arrival of a strong number of new students to our Sixth Form. All the staff at Ashford School are excited and ready to support them over the next two years, in order to optimise their potential and continue their success.”
