‘Her Face’ by Isabelle, through to next round of International Art Competition
Ashford School Art students have been busy creating fantastic artwork to represent the United Kingdom in the International High School Arts Festival at the National Art Centre in Tokyo, Japan. Four students will have their artwork displayed and the overall winning artist will receive an all-expenses paid trip to Japan to see the exhibition, courtesy of the International Foundation for Arts and Culture (IFAC).
Three pieces from Ashford School students were submitted to the competition and put to the public to vote. These were then combined with those of United Learning Art teachers to choose a shortlist of 10 pieces.
The last three weeks of voting has seen over 10,000 votes on social media channels and from art teachers across the country. We are delighted to announce that for the fourth year running, one of our students has progressed to the next round!
‘Her Face’ by Isabelle will now be exhibited at the United Learning Leadership Conference, 14 – 15 March, where senior leaders from Untied Learning and a professional artist will vote for the overall winner and three runners up. Their work will be exhibited at the National Art Centre, Tokyo.
Thank you to everyone for voting and best of luck to Isabelle for the final round!
