IAPS Finals at the London Aquatic Centre
Over 4,000 competitors take part in qualifying races held during the spring term, with the fastest 1,500 swimmers then invited to compete at the IAPS Finals at the London Aquatics Centre. Four Senior School squad swimmers competed in the finals, along with three swimmers from our Prep squad.
Despite a challenging start due to the absence of a backstroke ledge, Dexter delivered an excellent performance, improving his qualifying time by almost a second to finish the 50m backstroke in 33.85, just shy of his personal best.
Hayley, also competing in the 50m backstroke, achieved a personal best of 38.15, improving her qualifying time by over a second.
Annabel competed in the 50m butterfly, qualifying for the finals with a time of 36.23. She went on to improve both her time and position in the final, finishing 6th in 35.99, very close to her personal best.
Mia competed in the 50m breaststroke heats, finishing 3rd with a time of 36.48 to secure her place in the finals. She then delivered an outstanding swim, improving her time to 36.44 and finishing 3rd overall with a new personal best.
Freddie qualified for the finals with a time of 40.67 and finished 6th with a magnificent effort and a time of 39.76.
Maia narrowly missed out on the finals with an 11th place in the preliminaries with a time of 32.73 which is a new personal best.
Ginevra swam a fantastic race to just miss out on the finals with a preliminary time of 37.60 which is a new personal best.
The strong swimming provision at the school, combined with our partnership with DLGC, contributed to these impressive achievements at such a prestigious event.
