Outstanding A Level Results
Sixth Formers at Ashford School have done exceptionally well in their A Levels this year, and their teachers couldn’t be more proud of the pupils’ achievements.
Here is an overview of the results, some notable successes and interesting stories:
40% of grades were awarded A*/A.
68% of grades were awarded A*- B.
100% of students studying Art, Photography, Drama and Modern Foreign Languages achieved grade A* – B.
University Destinations:
- 80% of students have already secured places at their first-choice university.
- 44% are continuing their studies at one of the top 24 UK universities, the Russell Group universities, including Nottingham, Manchester, Edinburgh, Exeter, Warwick, Queen Mary College.
- 40% of students are pursuing STEM subjects including Biochemistry, Computer Science, Maths, Medicine, Pharmacology and Physics, five students will do their degrees at Imperial College and UCL.
- Andrew H (Medicine at Brunel University) and Bella T (Veterinary Medicine & Science at Surrey University) continue our tradition of sending pupils to study Medicine and Veterinary Science at university.
- Students are also going on to study Stage Management at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music & Drama and Film at Falmouth.
More stories:
- Amy R (Neuroscience at Queen Mary College, London University), Lily G (International Relations at Exeter) and Alan N (Computer Science and AI at Loughborough University) are all-through pupils who started in their education aged five at Ashford Prep School or even earlier at the Nursery School.
- Alan N, who was awarded four A* grades, thanked Mrs Evans, Miss Thompson and the Chemistry department for their amazing teaching. His advice to Y13: “Keep working hard; don’t stop. I started revising in October. Do lots of past papers. The teachers are there to help you.”
- Sandra V (Law at Surrey University) and Deven P (MORSE at Warwick University) attributed their success at A Level to their “great teachers – particularly Dr Britton, Head of Maths; Mr Rhys Langford, Head of Year 13; and the inspirational artist-in-residence Stephen Foy-Philp.
- Finn DT, has gone straight from school into work and has landed a job at GSE’s the well-known Ashford building and civil engineering group. Finn says “Once I have got myself established at GSE I think I might do an apprenticeship and work towards the RICS professional qualifications in Quantity Surveying. I really appreciate the support and help that my teachers gave me especially Mrs Ndongong, who was brilliant.”

“I am delighted with the excellent performance of our students. They have demonstrated absolute commitment and resilience to their studies. I am also so proud of who they are as people; they have been inspiring leaders in our community and supported each other’s ambitions with enthusiasm and determination.”
Michael Hall, Headmaster, echoed these sentiments stating: “We are very proud of our students who have worked so hard to achieve these results. Their success lies in their maturity and determination to succeed, and they leave Ashford School as well-rounded young people, ready to grasp the opportunities ahead of them. We send them off with best wishes for a bright and successful future. I would like to thank our excellent team who have inspired and supported our pupils throughout their educational journey with us and make the culture of Ashford School what it is.”
