This RYA Stage 1 sailing course is a brilliant introduction to the Royal Yachting Association Youth Scheme that teaches all the basics to get you sailing with confidence.  All transport to and from Rye Watersports is included. At the end of the two-day course all pupils should be proficient enough in their sailing skills to be awarded their RYA Stage 1 Certificate. Further course details as follows: 

• 2 day course, 4 hours each day, led by Qualified Sailing Instructors 
• Learn how to rig boat 
• Gain confidence on the water 
• Steer and tack 
• Understand the basic principles of sailing 
• RYA certificate on completion 

Please note that to join this course your child MUST be confident in open water and be a confident swimmer. The course is also a perfect refresher for anyone who hasn’t sailed in  6 months before progressing onto a Level 2 Sailing Certification.
