The Ashford School Foundation also supports the development of the School’s facilities. Currently, the Foundation is preparing to launch a fundraising campaign for a new 25m swimming pool.
Ashford School is currently undertaking a feasibility study for a new 25 metre swimming pool which, if successful, will provide the School with the facilities that will match the nationally recognised Swim and Multi Sports programme that we have built up over recent years.
Over the last five years, Ashford School has reinvigorated its swimming programme, which currently teaches over 1600 external students and 12 Primary schools over and above Ashford School’s Nursery to Year 10 curriculum lessons. Led by our highly qualified and experienced coach and Swim England tutor Denise Walsh, our swimmers are now well recognised at local and national events.
While the School is lucky to have two 20 metre swimming pools which are fully utilised early morning to late evening, we recognise that to develop our programme further and achieve our full potential, we need to build a competitive 25 metre pool with viewing gallery. This extra facility will allow us to extend our training of elite swimmers, develop our community swimming programme and allow us to host competitive swimming galas.
