As an Oxford graduate himself, our University application advisor, Dr Wilson, knows how challenging it is to win a place to study at Oxford or Cambridge. Students are guided on appropriate supercurricular exploration, application writing and interview preparation. Mock admissions tests and interviews help ensure that students are well-prepared to apply.

Students are given guidance about work experience opportunities, supercurricular reading and are also supported by staff in the Biology Department to produce their applications. As part of the wider life of the Sixth Form, applicants have a number of opportunities for academic extension activities, research projects (including CREST awards and EPQs) and volunteering.

In addition to UK universities, we are able to support students with international university applications, and have experience with the United States, Canada, Hong Kong, Australia and the Netherlands, among many others.

Working closely with our Art Department, we support our students to apply for a wide range of creative courses, including Architecture, Fashion and Textiles and Game Art. Each year, a number of students go on to take a Foundation Diploma in Art and Design, which lays an excellent foundation for further study in art and is a requirement for many of the most competitive art-related degree courses. Our Art Department provide support and advice on applications, and help students prepare their portfolios.

In recent years, pupils have been accepted to study Architecture at universities including Bath, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Sheffield, Manchester and UCL, as well as the Architectural Association School.

Popular destinations for the Foundation Diploma in Art and Design include the various colleges of UAL (University of the Arts London), UCA (University for the Creative Arts), Loughborough and Kingston Universities.
