- Attending networking events for alumni and parents in your profession
LinkedIn Networking
A new LinkedIn contact and networking group for alumni, current staff, parents and other supporters of Ashford School has recently been set up to further develop our careers networking effort. All alumni are welcome to join and to make use of the space to share jobs, ask for support and generally network with fellow like-minded alumni.
ASA Networking & Talks
We are excited to be developing networking events for our alumni, and current and former parents through. We will communicate the event as and when necessary.
If you could help support these, whether through offering a venue, being a speaker, or simply connecting us with those who could assist, please do get in touch with the Alumni and Development Office ([email protected]).
Octagon Lecture Series
Our Octagon Lecture Series, is a bespoke programme of talks, which exists to push students’ perception of and exposure to different subject disciplines. These sessions are run as lunchtime talks, approx 20 minutes, and see the speaker host discussions that look at an obscure or unusual element linked to their subject specialism, to take students beyond the parameters of the curriculum.
These are delivered on a half-termly basis and are compulsory for all scholars. These talks take a variety of forms, both live, and recorded, and are currently streamed online due to the pandemic.
These talks would be the perfect opportunity for Masters or PhD students and/or researchers to present on their area of study. If you would be interested in delivering an Octagon Lecture Series talk, please get in touch with the Alumni & Development Office.
In-School Careers Talks
We are looking for alumni to speak with our current students on a wide range of topics. Areas which our teaching staff have expressed an interest in covering are listed below. Alumni can also express an interest in speaking for General Studies talks or as part of our Wider Horizons series.
