Pre-Senior Baccalaureate (PSB) at Ashford Prep School
What is the PSB?
The PSB (Pre-Senior Baccalaureate) is a framework of study that aims to prepare children for the challenges of life as young adults academically, personally, socially, culturally and spiritually. It does so by actively developing and tracking knowledge, skills and attitudes. The PSB is about challenging perceptions of school and developing a love of learning. This is best achieved by children developing a clear understanding of their skills and their areas for development.
At the heart of the PSB are the core skills.

- Reviewing and improving
- Communicating
- Independence
- Collaboration
- Leadership
By focusing on the core skills children are best equipped to deal with challenges and provides an opportunity to hone skills that will serve them well later in life – how to be present, how to collaborate, how to be a leader, how to be more independent, how to think out of the box.
The PSB helps our pupils leave Ashford Prep School with a much clearer awareness of their strengths, skills and learning habits.
