Maths Week at Ashford School

Date Posted: Wednesday 18 November 2020

Maths Week 2020 was once again a big success at Ashford School. Despite the restrictions, the Maths Department put on a variety of mathematical activities for all ages. In lessons, we introduced several competitions, including a Desmos graphing art competition, escape rooms and Ritangle.

We had two whole School competitions, one of which was a crossnumber puzzle with clues released each day during the week. Prizes will be announced next week in assembly. On Friday, pupils competed to see who could remember the most digits of Pi. There were some really impressive attempts, with a number of pupils managing more than 50 digits!

It was fantastic to see so many pupils taking part and getting involved in this and all the activities. Hopefully next year, we will be able to run even more activities.
